For people with diabetes, emotional and physical stress can raise your blood sugar readings. When you are under stress, your body produces a hormone called cortisol which can result in high blood sugars.


Everyone experiences emotional stress, but it's important to know how stress affects you and how to implement healthy coping mechanisms to reduce stress such as going out for a walk, listening to music, or any other activity that you enjoy doing.
